joyI am caring for 2 cats while their owner is
away for 5 more days. They are so scared.
They are in a large cage in my flower shop.
If I would let them out, they would run & hide. They did not eat, drink, or eliminate
for 24 hours. finally one ate half a can of
friskys from the bowl. The other, nothing. How long can they go without eating, drinking, or eliminating? What do you think?
cindyGoing with my experience. I would try to spend time trying to be their friend, getting use to you is important so that u can handle them incase somethimg went wrong and for them to start eating.Cats usually eat/drink when comfortable in their environment. Cats can go for 2-3 days with out eliminating. With eating depends on the size of the cat and nutrients in its body. Generally no more than 4 days. I would advise, Trying another food in 4days like tuna. Just to get it eating is fine(strong smell) Some cats fret for owners and lasts months. I Know . So get that cat eating.. Good luck
PaulineWell owner is gone away, and you are not a familiar entity to them as well as the environment, so patient and perseverence! LOL! I gather you have the same food they usually eat, so kitty who isn't eating should begin nibbling when he sees it's safe to or when he sees the other pigging away. Just leave it in the cage, and like kids, will nibble slowly but surely. No need to buy other food, this is what they are used to. Make sure also, that the same type litter they are used to, is readily available in a clean box. I would keep the cage in a quiet area, to calm their fears. Good luck.
